For the past 35 years, I have been dedicated to helping individuals access more affordable healthcare. As an early adopter and solution-focused consultant, my approach is rooted in the principle that people make the most efficient spending decisions when it comes to their own money.
This core belief has driven me to champion solutions that empower healthcare consumers to spend their money more wisely. Over the years, I have actively promoted HSA plan designs, highlighted the tax advantages of HSA Bank accounts for healthcare expenses, offered healthcare consumer education and advocated for incentive-based health and wellness programs.
I also pioneered the Defined Contribution Health Plan Industry in Ohio through the establishment of LyfeBank Ohio. It is incredibly rewarding to witness this model gaining renewed traction with the advent of ICHRA.
Given this resurgence, I am eager to re-engage and continue my work in making healthcare more affordable. I believe this model is poised to become the standard for financing and offering health benefits in the small and middle-sized employer health insurance markets, driven by factors such as cost control, risk transfer, flexibility, and personal ownership—much like the way 401(k) plans became the standard in replacing traditional pension plans.
